Deacon Henry James, Sr., 80, of Coatesville, passed away on November 19, 2014 at Brandywine Hospital.  Born in Bishopville, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Richard and Margaret Fortune James. He was the husband of the late Gloria Mae Gibbs James with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.

He had been employed with the Lukens Steel Company for 35 years retiring in 1996.  He also worked as a security guard at Burroughs, and the Foote Mineral Company.

He served as a Deacon at New Life In Christ Fellowship in Coatesville, formerly Union Baptist Church.

He enjoyed fishing, singing, bowling, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his sons, Nathaniel James (Barbara) of San Antonio, Texas and Henry James, Jr. (Denise) of Coatesville; daughters, Delores Addison of Bishopville, South Carolina, Delia "Crystal" Creekmur, Monica James both of Coatesville, Subrena Wilson (Horace) of Downingtown; 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; six siblings, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, at New Life In Christ Fellowship, One South Fifth Avenue, Coatesville with a viewing from 8 until 9:45 a.m.

Interment will be in the New Evergreen Cemetery, Coatesville.
