IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harry D.
London
February 8, 1944 – October 11, 2022
Harry D. London, 78, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at his residence.
Born in Parkesburg, PA, he was the son of Fredrick London and Iva F. Gray London.
He was a 1964 graduate of S. Horace Scott Senior High School. After graduation, he enlisted in United States Marine Corps serving during the Viet Nam Conflict. He attained the rank of Sergeant and received medals for his valiant efforts.
Harry cared about people and was always willing to help someone in need. He enjoyed listening to music by Tina Turner and James Brown, and watching the 1970s hit movie Shaft. He really loved the Shaft theme song. He walked with dignity and was a classy marine. Harry was a hard worker, and prestige was his favorite word. Just like all of us, he enjoyed eating barbecue ribs, fried chicken, sauerkraut, and pork chops.
Harry leaves many memories to his three daughters, Quiniece M. Twyman of Coatesville, Ursala Hunt of San Jose, Calif., and Kim Hayes of Sunnyvale, Calif; two sisters, Joyce Scott of York, PA, and Betty Jane London; six brothers: Michael London (Gloria) of New Jersey, Lester London (Carol) of Coatesville, Andrew London (Gwen) of Harrisburg, Elder Larry London (Anita) of Coatesville, Barry London of Kennett Square, and Carl London (Judy) of Coatesville; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; former spouse, Gloria London, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Tilly Agnes Lavender, Gertrude Ford, Margaret Butcher, Ada London, Dorothy London, and Marjorie Brake; brothers, Fredrick London, Ronald London, Harold London, James London, Edward London, Robert London, Billy London, and Lewis London.
