Obituary

Harry Leroy Blakey, Sr., 80, of Pottstown, passed away April 25, in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. He was the husband of Lueveina Harris Blakey with whom he shared over 54 years of marriage.

Born in McGaheysville, Virginia to the late George & Josephine Blakey, he served in the U.S. Army until receiving an honorable discharge.

Leroy was employed by Stanley G. Flagg Co. for 35 years, and worked at Spring City Foundry and Merit Manufacturing until his retirement at age 75.

In addition to his wife, Lueveina, Leroy is survived by three sons: Ray Anthony Blakey, Sr., Harry L. Blakey, Jr. (Diedre) and Brian R. Blakey; two daughters:  Minister Patricia A. Levi (Leroy), and Katina L. Blakey-Bearden; one sister, Sara Sampson (Ralph, Sr.); brothers: Robert Blakey (Elaine), Joseph Blakey (Rose), and Wilson Blakey (Patricia); 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 11 am, Friday, May 3 at the Second Baptist Church, 507 N Adams Street,  Pottstown,  with a family visitation beginning at 10 am. There will be no public viewing.

Interment with military honors will be in the Second Baptist Church Cemetery.
