Gladys O. Lewis Dalton, 87, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at home surrounded by her family.

Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late John D. Lewis, Sr. and Bessie Mae Bryant Lewis. She was the wife of the late Frank T. Dalton.

Gladys was employed at Embreeville State Hospital for over 41 years. She was a member of New Life In Christ (formerly Union Baptist).

She was a great cook and would feed anyone in need.

Gladys is survived by three daughters: Darlene Dalton Hunt who has been her devoted caretaker as well for many years, Melissa Dalton Myers and husband Bruce of Norristown, PA, and Francine Dalton of York, PA; 11 grandchildren, one of whom she raised, Cateena Dalton; 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She also leaves two brothers, John Lewis and Joe Lewis, a devoted cousin, Sarah Eleanor Bryant Towels; special nieces, Sharon Lewis Jones, Cheryl Lewis and Bonnie Dalton as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gladys was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Jean Dalton; sisters, Lucille Lewis and Jessie Lewis Conway; brothers: Richard Lewis, George Lewis, Calvin Lewis, Eugene Lewis and Daniel Lewis.

Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at New Life in Christ, 1 South 5th Ave, Coatesville, PA.  A viewing will be held beginning at 8 AM.

Interment will be in New Evergreen Cemetery, Coatesville, PA.

Flowers can be sent to the church on the day of the service. The theme colors are cream and gold.
