Girard Leslie Hemminger, 83, of Coatesville, PA, went home to be with God on Sunday, December 9, 2018. Born on December 15, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY; he was the son of the late Ralph W. and Jessamine M. He obtained a Bachelors' Degree from Harvard University (Boston, MA), and a Masters' Degree in Business from Columbia University (New York, NY).
He served honorably as a Commissioned Officer, First Lieutenant, of the U.S. Army. After his service Girard worked for Republic Steel, U.S. Steel, Container Research Corporation, and Hatts True Value until his retirement in 2015. Jerry lived life to the fullest and enjoyed many activities including bicycling and competitive shooting with his son, Girard. He was an avid scholar of history and enjoyed traveling the world including, China, Korea, Vietnam, Ecuador and Germany. He was known for his generous spirit and friendly demeanor.
