Obituary

Gertrude R. Roane, "Pinky", 71, of Coatesville, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at home. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Ella M. Styer Gordon.  She is the beloved wife of Chef William T. Roane with whom she shared 29 years of marriage.
Born in Coatesville, Pinky attended the Coatesville Area public schools and worked at Unisys in Malvern for 18 years. She was a member of New Hope Glad Tidings Church in Coatesville. She enjoyed shopping, gardening and wearing fashionable hats.

She is survived by her husband William T. Roane, sons, Steve Parker of Reading, Rev. Willie  A. Parker of Wakefield, NC, Anthony (Amy) May of Virginia; daughters, Bertha "Cissy" Parker of Downingtown, Rhonda  May of Philadelphia, step son, Billy Long Roane of New York; step daughter, Tanya Roane of Downingtown; sisters, Grace Harris of New Jersey, Elsie (Gil) Graham of Coatesville, Bertha  (Martin) Toney of West Chester; step sisters, Betty Harris of Coatesville, brother Frank (Louise) Parker of Virginia; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grands and many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by two brothers, Andy Parker and Frances Parker.

Services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, September 5, at Hutchinson Memorial Church, 825 E Chestnut Street, Coatesville, with a viewing beginning at 9 am. Interment will be private.
