IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frances C.
(Wilkerson) Oxendine
September 20, 1941 – January 27, 2026
The Reverend Frances C. "Doll" Oxendine, 84, of West Chester, PA, gently departed this life on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Pocopson Home in West Chester, PA. Born in West Chester, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lewis Wilkerson, Sr. and Lottie Ann Shuler Wilkerson.
Frances was admired for her wisdom and steadfast faith. She valued education and personal growth, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Geneva College. Her career as an executive secretary showcased her remarkable organizational skills, yet her heart was most at home teaching the Bible. As an ordained minister, she treasured sharing her faith and insights with others, offering inspiration and comfort to many.
Dedicated to serving others, Frances participated in missionary trips, spreading hope and kindness wherever she went. Easter was especially meaningful to her, a holiday she observed with heartfelt joy and reverence.
Frances's warm and lively spirit shone through in her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, qualities that brought joy to all who knew her. She enjoyed shopping and cherished lively conversations with Rev. Julia Ann Smith and Rev. Gloria Meeks, often filled with laughter and thoughtful reflection.
A fan of gospel music, Frances found special comfort in songs like "Going Up Yonder" and "I Am Redeemed." Her love of Italian food, especially spaghetti and meatballs, reflected her zest for life and simple pleasures.
Prior to the decline in her health, Frances brought happiness to others through her visits with residents at Pocopson, offering them friendship and support. Her life was a beautiful example of faith and love, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and wisdom.
Her memory will be lovingly cherished by her devoted children: Erick Proctor (Lisa) of Coatesville, Joell McDuffy (Eugene) of Pottstown, Rev. Lisa Lackey (Rev. Richard) of Marietta, Georgia, Tracey Jones of Downingtown, and Justin Proctor (Sharika) of King of Prussia; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lewis Wilkerson, Jr., Priscilla Bryant and Patricia Smith, all of Coatesville; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She is reunited in peace with her parents, Lewis and Lottie Wilkerson, her first husband Earl Proctor, her brother Vernon Wilkerson, and sisters Joyce Wilkerson and Barbara Ann Wilkerson.
