Frances Jackson, of West Chester, PA, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Pocopson Home in West Chester. She was 88 years old.

Frances grew up in East Whiteland Township on Bacton Hill, in Frazer, PA. She was the daughter of the late Francis Mood and Ann (Longaker) Mood. She attended, and graduated from Tredyffrin Eastown High School, class of '52.

Frances and her family moved to West Chester, PA, where she worked as a switch board operator for Bell Telephone Company.

On November 23, 1958, Frances married Dempsey W. Jackson, and out of this union they had 3 children.

Frances enjoyed working in the cafeteria at North Junior High School. She loved being a part of all the sports her kids, and husband were involved in, especially her daughter's hockey events, and her son's Little League Baseball. Her husband Dempsey also played adult ball in West Chester. The entire family would be at his games.

Frances eventually became employed by Chester County and was part of the county sheriff's office for many years. Fran or Franny, as she was affectionately called, became the receptionist for the county and "made everyone who walked through the front door smile".

Franny was on many bowling leagues, and enjoyed going out dancing with Dempsey. They could "clear the floor" with their jitter bug.

She and the family enjoyed many trips to the beach and the mountains each year with her parents. But the best times were at the beach with her husband, her son and his wife, and grandchildren.

A friend, mom, nana, and great grandmother, she was dearly loved and will be missed by many. She is at rest now.
