Evangelist Dorothy Eggleston Miles Lewis,78, of Philadelphia, formerly of Coatesville passed away peacefully February 28, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Bishop George L. Eggleston and Corrine Jackson. She was the widow of the late Whalen T. Miles.

Dorothy lived in Brooklyn, N.Y. and worked over 25 years in the field of early childhood education.

She was a member of Mt. Sinai COGIC in Brooklyn, N.Y. for many years, and was a current member of Pinn Memorial Baptist Church in Philadelphia.

She is survived by her husband, Willie Lewis of Phila.; two daughters, Sabrina Miles of Indian Trail, N.C. and Danita (Arnell) Thompson of Columbus, N.J.; three grandchildren, Kevin (Nikita), Keron and Kierra; a great-granddaughter, London; 12 siblings, George (Mary) Eggleston, Jr. of Brooklyn, N.Y., Christine (Thomas Eugene) Hyden of Clermont, Fla., Pastor Jeanette (Cornell) McNeill Bridgeport, Conn., Rosena (Leonard) Harden of Coatesville, Elese Morton of Lancaster, Lorraine Ward of Coatesville, Wesley Eggleston of Coatesville, Marie G.E. Denmark of Schertz, Texas, Vanessa (James C., Jr.) Elliott of Lancaster, Elder Felicia Eggleston of Durham, N.C., Lonnie (Sharman) Eggleston of Douglassville, and Pastor Ronnie L. (Tammy) Eggleston, I of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and many other relatives and friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Mother Pauline Mitchell Eggleston and brother, Rev. James H. Eggleston.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8th, 2014 at the Mt. Sinai COGIC, 1916 Fulton St, Brooklyn, New York with a viewing from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Another 2-hour viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, on Monday, March 10th, at the Pinn Memorial Baptist Church, 2251 N 54th St, Phila.

Interment will be in New Evergreen Cemetery in Coatesville.
