Essie L. Wiggins was born February 28, 1913 in Phoenix, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late George Wayman McGhee and Minnie Bell (Pierce) McGhee. She had been the wife of the late Edward Wiggins.

She was a faithful member of the Jones Memorial Baptist Church.

Ms. Wiggins departed this life peacefully surrounded by her family September 12, 2011. She was preceded in death by four brothers George McGhee, Bill McHee, Cess McGhee and LG McGhee, one sister Lucille Holmes.

She is survived by two children Marcella (Arnold) of Coatesville; Emmanuel (Cynthia) of Philadelphia; three sisters, Connie Robbins of Philadelphia, Edna Jordan and Daisy Williams of Castle Hayne, NC; one brother, Johnnie McGee of Castle Hayne, NC; 4 grandchildren Eboni, Xavier, Brianna, and Joseph; one great grandson Ellington, a longtime companion Euless Lawson of Philadelphia and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Wiggin's presence will be deeply missed. She is gone, but will never be forgotten. The memories we shared will forever be treasured in our hearts.
