Essie Garmon Cooper, departed this life on Sunday, April 6, 2014. Born in Perry, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Rosa Jackson Garmon. She was educated in the Perry School Systems. After relocating to Philadelphia she met and married Sol Cooper with whom she shared 53 years.
She is survived by her children, Van Sr. (Mercedes) Cooper, Denise Cooper and Delores Cooper all of Philadelphia, Rev. Alfred (Valerie) Cooper of Coatesville and Edward Cooper of Willingboro, NJ.; two sisters, Josephine (Rev. Dr. James E.) Fitten of Camden, NJ and Rose (James) Napoleon of Philadelphia, adopted son Glen Palmer, 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
