Elizabeth R. Winfield Clayton, 82, of Philadelphia, formerly of Coatesville, passed away, November 29, 2010 at the Kearsley Retirement Community in Philadelphia. Born in Modena, she was the daughter of the late Lymas and Hazel Brown Winfield.

Elizabeth attended the Historical James Adams school. She was a graduate of S. Horace Scott High School and the Berean Business School in Philadelphia. She had been employed as a secretary for three branches of the US Military. She also worked as a hospital medical secretary, a church secretary, and as a clerk typist for the City of Philadelphia, until she retired.

Elizabeth was a member of the Christ Community Baptist Church in Philadelphia.

She enjoyed genealogy, reading and listening to classical music.

She is survived by three sisters, Barbara Kennedy and Marlene Winfield, both of Philadelphia, Jean Eggleston of Downingtown; one brother, Lee Winfield of Downingtown; nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, December 4, at the Christ Community Baptist Church, 1224-30 N 41st St, Philadelphia. Her viewing will begin at 10 a.m.
