Edward E. Washington Sr., 61, of West Chester, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015, at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in West Chester he was the son of Linda Goodwin Washington and the late Edward R. Washington.

He received his education from the West Chester school district. He served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marines, until he was honorably discharged.

Edward enjoyed taking care of his cars and driving trucks.  He also loved listening to music and taking care of horses.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Michael A. Washington and Steven M. Washington; and  two sisters, Debra E. Massey and Linda L. Washington.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Edward E. Washington Jr. of Pottstown and Maurice A. (Amber) Washington of Modena; one brother, Anthony C. (Ida) Washington of Coatesville; sisters, Mary F. Washington of Coatesville and Cynthia J. Washington of West Chester;  4 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7 at the First Baptist Church of Bernardtown, 1208 Youngsburg Rd., Coatesville.

Interment was held privately.

Arrangements are being handled by Wright Funeral & Cremation Services of Coatesville.
