Eartha Collier Brunson was born May 8, 1930 in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.  She was the daughter of the late Wesley Collier and Sinnie Shuler Collier.  She received her formal education at the S. Horace Scott Senior High School in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.  It was there in the public school, where she excelled in her studies and she discovered her love of reading books.

Eartha accepted Christ as her Savior as a child and continued in that relationship as an adult.  She was a faithful member of Christian Faith Fellowship in Downingtown, Pennsylvania for the past five years.  Eartha truly loved the Lord.  Eartha was united in matrimony with George Brunson.  Together, they celebrated the birth of their son, Michael.  After the birth of their son, Eartha left her former place of employment and embarked eagerly in her new career as a devoted and loving wife and mother.  She was employed by the Devereux Foundation in the food services department.  After she retired, Eartha enjoyed working with students and staff in food services at the Coatesville Public School System.  She served dutifully there for approximately 13 years.

In her leisure, she enjoyed studying the bible, enjoying her two lovely grandchildren: Justina and Tatyanna, nieces, nephews and extended family.  Everyone that had the opportunity to embrace her lovingkindness and stern word was encouraged by her.  She took pride in encouraging everyone in the family to get a good education, be honest, and work hard.

As the early signs of the spring season arrived, Eartha made preparations for her garden.  She enjoyed getting her hands into the soil.  Gardening happened to be one of her favorite hobbies and a true gift she received from her mother, Sinnie.  She took a lot of pride in cultivating a variety of flowers such as Azaleas, Begonias, Marigolds, and Petunias. At the height of springtime Eartha's garden was a beautiful, colorful and fragrant sight. She acquired the gift of having a "green thumb."  She also enjoyed cooking and earned "bragging rights" with her macaroni and cheese, and roast beef and gravy.

Other gifts that will be missed were her collection of family photographs.  If you sent her a picture, (no matter how large or small) you could be certain that your picture was included in her personal "photo" museum.  Pictures of the family were displayed within every "nook and cranny" of her home.  Eartha took joy in accepting invitations to visit family.  This was another expression of her love for family.

Eartha was truly blessed and we will miss her dearly.  She was a mother, a godmother, grandmother, sister, friend, aunt, encourager, supporter, and a wonderful child of the King.  The Lord called his child back to Himself on September 29, 2018.  She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Michael Brunson, granddaughters, Justina and Tatyanna, sister, Mrs. Evelyn Butler, brother, Mr. William Collier, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and friends.  She loved her family as much as they loved her.
