Obituary

Earl Plater, 83, of West Chester, PA passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the Brandywine Hall in West Chester, PA.

Born in Coatesville, PA, Earl was the son of the late Rosa and James L. Plater. He was the youngest of his siblings. His mother died when he was just a child, so he was raised by his older sister Ethel Brown.

Earl never drove. He rode a bike where ever he went. He rode his bike from Coatesville to Downingtown for work at Mcdonald's. After many years, Mcdonald's gifted him with a bike.  Earl was always smiling and physically fit.  He attended services at the Salvation Army in Coatesville.  Back in the day, he played drums in a band called King Twigg and the Royals.

He is survived by his niece, Joyce Plater Crutchfield, her husband Barry, along with a few cousins and other relatives.

Earl was preceded in death by his brothers, Louis Plater, Jesse Plater; sister, Ethel Brown; and a cousin with whom he was raised, William "BB" Brown.

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM at Rolling Green Memorial Park, West Chester where his cremated remains will be laid to rest with his family members.

Condolences may be shared at the guestbook link on this memorial page. Please feel free to light a candle in his memory.
