June 15, 1946 – August 17, 2025
Doris M. Shepherd Wright, 79, of Paoli, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Paoli Memorial Hospital.
Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, she was the daughter of the late Woodford G. Shepherd, Sr. and Thamazine Thomas Shepherd.
She was raised in Paoli along with four siblings. She graduated from Great Valley High School in 1964 and went to work at Betsy Ross. Doris later worked as a food server at Devon Manor and retired after 35 years of service.
She enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City, playing bingo, and playing Pokeno. She also enjoyed watching General Hospital and The Price is Right on TV. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and having breakfast with her sisters at Minella's Diner.
Doris will be deeply missed by her devoted daughter, Tonja M. Bell; siblings, Mary E. London of Downingtown, Barbara J. Mills and her husband Roger of Paoli, Sophie L. Cody of Norristown; grandson, Jakarri Stroman; besties, Mary Alice Handy, Gerri Brown, Margaret Sims, Eleanor Murden; great nephew, Mike Mike, and great niece, Tiffany who called her mommy #2, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughters, Kenya Marie Bell, Hanaiya and Angie; brother, Woodford "Woody" G. Shepherd, Jr.; nephew, Richie Shepherd; great nephew, Ronald L. Shepherd II (who was also her godson), David Shepherd and son-in-law, Kenny Bell.
Her memory will be cherished in our hearts.
Services will be held at 10 AM, on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Paoli United Methodist Church, 81 Devon Road, Paoli, Pennsylvania PA. A viewing will be held from 9 AM until 9:45 AM.
Interment will be held in Rolling Green Memorial Park, in West Chester, PA.
