Doris Tucker Ford, 85, of Coatesville, passed away suddenly Saturday, January 19, 2013 at home.

Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late John and Elnora Macon Tucker and the widow of the late Jeffrey Ford.

Mrs. Tucker was a 1945 graduate of S. Horace Scott High School. She was employed at the Coatesville VA Medical Center for many years until she retired in 1985.

She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Coatesville where she served as church cook and sang in the Senior Choir.

She enjoyed cooking, shopping and caring for her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by two sisters, Bernice Surratt of Orlando, Florida, Alsenia (David) Williams of Coatesville; two brothers, George (Anna) Tucker, Alfred (Reatha) Tucker of Coatesville; a niece and nephew whom she helped raise, Davida Washington of Coatesville and David "JC" Williams of Cleveland, OH; sister in law Jacqueline Tucker as well as many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 11am, Friday, January 25, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 819 Coates St, Coatesville, with a viewing beginning at 9:00 am

Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, West Chester.
