Dolly Mae Mayo, "Teenie" departed this life on Monday September 24th, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Aynor, South Carolina, April 5th 1938, she was the eldest daughter of twelve children to the late Beverly and Olivia Sims. Teenie later met and married the late William "Billy" Mayo, they celebrated 50 years of Matrimony.
Teenie accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of Zion Baptist Church in South Coatesville, PA. She received her education graduating from Wittemore High School in Conway, South Carolina
Teenie was employed as a Dietician at the Veterans Hospital in Coatesville PA and retired after 19 years. She enjoyed spending time with all her family and welcomed visits from them. She loved to shop for the trendiest yet fashionable clothing. Teenie had a green thumb and enjoyed watching her flowers bloom. When time permitted, she liked to travel often attending family reunions and Cruises.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: Children: Greg Davis, Eric Mayo and his wife Melissa, Shawn Threadgill and her husband Keith, Grandchildren: Eric Mayo, Jr., Ezra Threadgill, Jarret Mayo and KeShaun Threadgill, Siblings: Barbara J. Allen (Curtis), Leona Sims, Joseph Sims (Barbara), Johnny B. Sims (Brenda), Ola Mae Harris (Earl,deceased), Mary Mohammed (Hannif), Rose Marie Stewart (Charlie), Lewis Sims and Sonya Sims. In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded by her siblings Henry J. Sims (Pauline) and John Monroe Sims. She is also survived by her Sister-in-law: Virginia Taggart, Aunt: Elizabeth Graham and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, September 30, 2019, 11:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church of Bernardtown, 1208 Youngsburg Road, Coatesville, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM.
