Devonia E. Wright, "Bonnie" was born to the late Joseph C. and Ethel Yarbrough on March 19, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA.
Bonnie was raised in Yeadon, PA, and attended St. Philomena Catholic School in Lansdowne, PA. She completed her high school education at Bartram and graduated in 1965. She received a Master's Degree in Nursing from Lincoln University in 2002. Bonnie started her nursing career at Haverford State Hospital as a psychiatric nurse. She was employed by CMS as a charge nurse. Bonnie continued her career as a Director at RHD implementing a program called NOVA, which exists today. Bonnie had a fruitful and fulfilling career as she helped those with mental health challenges.
Additionally, Bonnie was creative and had the ability and talent to express herself through poetry in her spare time.
Bonnie was first married to the late Clyde Walker and from this union, their daughter Vanessa was born. Later she married her soul mate Edward Wright. Together they forged 38 years of blissful marriage.
Bonnie was a strong woman who battled and overcame several medical challenges. She possessed a monumental character combined with a divine personality that never failed to affect anyone she met.
She leaves to mourn her husband, Edward, Sr; daughter, Vanessa; sons, Edward Jr, (Linny), and Tony (Janine); grandchildren, Vaughn, Mingus, Derek, Shayla, Andrew, Jamison, Alex, Jake, and Phillip; great-grandchildren, Hayden and Noah; God-daughter, Noel; sisters-in-law, Irene and Linda; best friends, Sandy, Leon and Charlotte Hill whom she had known for 60 years, along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA. Visitation with the family will begin at 3:00 PM.
