Delores Izetta Williams, a beloved first lady and devoted servant of God, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 18, 1943, in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Herman Taylor, Sr. and Onetta Walker-Taylor.

As the devoted wife of Rev. James E. Williams III, Delores was a steadfast partner in ministry, embodying the essence of a Proverbs 31 woman: "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her" (Proverbs 31:28). Together, they served the Lord with humility and grace, over the years ministering at Ebenezer Baptist in Downingtown, True Light Baptist in Philadelphia, Bethel Baptist in Phoenixville, and currently, Friendship Baptist Church in Pottstown, spanning a remarkable 50 years of faithful service.

Delores was a woman of many talents, known for her exquisite crocheting, impeccable house cleaning, and her warm hospitality, often enjoyed through her famous lemon cakes and apple dumplings. Her spaghetti was a family favorite. In her quiet moments, she found joy in reading the Bible, singing, listening to gospel music and solving crossword puzzles.

As an esteemed First Lady of Friendship Baptist Church for 28 years, Delores was a pillar of strength and devotion. She led with kindness and purpose in the Ushers Ministry, teaching usher lessons with a gentle spirit and compassion. Her leadership and service were guided by Colossians 3:23  "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men," inspiring all who knew her to serve the Lord with dedication and joy.

Delores leaves a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering commitment to her family and church community.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Rev. James E. Williams III of Thorndale; son, Rodney E. Williams (Carletta) of Coatesville, Darlene L."Dee" Williams of Thorndale; grandchildren, Rodkeem Williams, Asia Washington (William), Thomas Goines, Jr.; bonus granddaughter, Maya Cannon; great granddaughter, Avayah Washington; bonus great granddaughter, Brielle Abrams; sister, Brenda Hicks (Rev. Frederick) of Coatesville; brother, Gilbert Hyden (Evonne) of Philadelphia; friends, Dorothy Freeman and Evelyn Carey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, beloved church members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey E. Williams; siblings: Bernice Godfrey, Herman L. Taylor, Jr., Joyce E. Hills, and Robert L. Taylor.

Homegoing services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Passtown, 117 Barber Avenue, Coatesville, PA. A viewing will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM.

Interment will be held in New Evergreen Cemetery in Coatesville, PA.
