IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deborah L.
Tooles
May 15, 1950 – August 29, 2024
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Deborah Louise Tooles, affectionately known as Debbie, who left this world peacefully at the age of 74. Debbie, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, began her journey on May 15, 1950, in Coatesville, PA.
She was the cherished daughter of the late Dolly Mae Arnold Tooles and Wilbur "Sticks" Tooles and was one of eight daughters from a loving and close-knit family. On Thursday, August 29, 2024, Debbie transitioned into eternal peace at Select Specialty Hospital in Wilmington, DE, after a courageous battle following a tragic auto accident. With grace, God sent His angel of mercy to call her home, where she can be at rest.
Debbie, a lifelong resident of Coatesville, PA, was educated in the Coatesville Area School District. Her passion for nurturing and caring for others was evident throughout her life, especially in her devotion to her daughters and grandchildren. Debbie's generous spirit extended to everyone she loved. Her life was a testament to compassion, as she selflessly gave her time and energy to support extended family and friends. She helped raise and care for many of her nieces and nephews and was known for giving them endearing nicknames. Her dedication to her family, friends and community left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
In her early years, she worked at Lynch Homes in Coatesville, PA, providing personalized care for special-needs youth. Her dedication continued at the Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville, PA, where she served in the housekeeping department for approximately ten years before her well-deserved retirement. Additionally, she was committed to volunteering as a server at the Soup Kitchen at the Hutchinson Memorial UAME Church in Coatesville, PA, for several years.
Debbie's legacy of love, resilience, and dedication will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Her absence will be deeply felt, as she brought joy, kindness, and honesty into the world. She cherished her grandchildren and great-granddaughter and loved socializing and cooking for her family and friends; her delicious macaroni and cheese was an often-requested favorite.
Debbie departs with the treasured memories of her two daughters, Angela Tooles of Coatesville, PA, and Leticia Tooles of Thorndale, PA; five grandchildren: Shamon Tooles of Coatesville, PA, Chalek "Shay" Tooles of Reading, PA and Marlowe Tooles Andrews, Theodore "Teddy" Tooles, and Taliyah "Tia" Tooles of Thorndale, PA; and her great-granddaughter Sophia Tooles of Valencia, CA.
Also left to mourn her are sisters Katheryn Bailey (Arnold, deceased) of Coatesville, PA, and Dr. Carla Tooles-Walls (Benjamin) of Beltsville, MD. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends will also fondly miss her. We share this collective grief, united in our love and memories of Debbie.
In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her sisters: Barbara Johnson. Gwendolyn Tooles, Jacqueline Tucker, JoAnn Tooles-Brown, and Margaret Tooles; niece Michelle Johnson; and nephews Stephen and Cameron Tooles.
