IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deborah Jean
Delaware
April 26, 1953 – December 8, 2025
Deborah Jean Delaware, 72, of Devon, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Paoli Memorial Hospital.
Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, she was the daughter of the late Bertha Margaret (Delaware) Jacobs.
Debbie dedicated her career to marketing research and consumer insights, beginning at Chiltan Research in Radnor and later serving as a Supervisor at TMR Research. She continued her work in the field as a research clerk, always approaching each role with dedication and precision. She cared deeply for her colleagues and was known for her compassion, professionalism, and commitment to understanding others.
She had a passion for crafting, sewing, and crocheting, and was known for her love of butterflies and Stevie Wonder's music. She enjoyed watching many sports—especially football—and above all, Debbie cherished time with her family. She brought joy to countless gatherings with her baking, most memorably her famous buttercream icing, which will be forever remembered by all who knew her.
She leaves behind loving memories with her son, James Louis Delaware (Angela) of Royersford; sister Daphne Ockimey (James) of Drexel Hill; five grandchildren—Genea Delaware (Brian Douglas), Jerron Hall, Jasmine Delaware (Roy Fitts), Darius Delaware, and Jayda Delaware; two great-grandchildren, Jaydon and Journei Fitts; goddaughter Alycia Canada; sister-in-law Grace Delaware; special niece and caregiver Daqoya John, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
In addition to her mother, Debbie was preceded in death by her siblings, William "Butch" Delaware, Brenda Harris, and Vernon Delaware; and her lifelong friends and special cousin, Darlene Canada and Gary Sanders.
The family will hold a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1200 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380. Repass to follow at RTCA.
