David Dorsey, "Smiley", 81, of Coatesville, PA, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, February 28, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Born in Darlington, Maryland, he was the son of the late Edward Dorsey and Pearline Aiken Dorsey.

David was the beloved husband of Kay Douglas Dorsey with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Through this union, they had four children: David, Juanita, Betty Jacks and Lewis (who preceded him in death).

He worked at the Budd Company in Eagle, PA and at Fabricated Metals in Modena.

He enjoyed going to the beach, playing cards and going to horse races. David was a friendly person who always greeted people with a big smile.  He dearly loved his grandchildren who affectionately called him "Poppy".

He is survived by his wife Kay Dorsey, children: David Dorsey, Jr. of Maryland, Juanita Dorsey

of Maryland, Betty Jacks (Tyrone) of Coatesville; sisters, Mary Sibert, Edna Branch both of Maryland; 4 grandchildren: Tyrell, Tyesha, Tyron and Desmond and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Lewis Dorsey; four brothers: Roland Dorsey, Charles Dorsey, Fredrick Dorsey, and Nelson Dorsey; two sisters, Ethel Robinson and Elsie McClain.

A walk-thru public viewing will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA 19320.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the funeral service will be held privately with limited seating for only the immediate family.
