IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Constance D.
Hardy
March 29, 1934 – August 23, 2022
Constance D. Hardy was born on March 29, 1934, in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. She was the youngest of two daughters born to the late Eshmon and Marjorie P. Harville-Gay. Connie was the wife of the late Joseph J. Hardy and the mother of one son, Joseph Monroe Hardy.
Connie received her early education from the Coatesville Area Public Schools. She attended the Historic James Adams School and S. Horace Scott High School. Connie was employed at QVC in West Chester until she retired.
She was a longtime member of the Historic Hutchinson UAME Church in Coatesville where she faithfully served as a member of the Kitchen Committee, Usher Board and Gospel Choir. Connie was a dedicated volunteer for the Coatesville Soup Kitchen where she spent many hours serving food to those in need within the Coatesville Community. She was a member of Mary Tent #25.
Connie loved reading the Bible and had a unique way of praising the Lord in tongues. Connie had an impeccable style for dress and an eye for fashion. She made stiletto heels her fashion statement long before they were fashionable. In her later years, she owned her look by continuing to wear high heels even when using her walking cane. Her smile was infectious and her love for people was precious. Most of all, Connie loved the Lord. In every conversation, she gave praise to the Lord.
On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, Connie was called home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her sister Marjorie Butler, son Joseph M. Hardy, and special companion Harold Bradford aka Shakey Daddy.
Connie is survived by grandson Dana E. L. Robinson (Coatesville); granddaughters Paris Morton (Texas), Tameka Hardy (S. Carolina), and Nicole Hardy (Texas); grandson Joseph D. Hardy (Georgia); six great-grandchildren; raised two special nephews Walter Butler and Eshmon Butler; great nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law Ella Perry; special friends/sisters Emily Caleb and Sarah Whitaker; and a host of other relatives and friends.
