Obituary

Charles Elliot Palmer, Jr., 71, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester.

Charles was the son of the late Charles Elliot Palmer, Sr., and Jean Guydance Palmer.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Charles attended the Philadelphia public school system and was a proud graduate of Overbrook High School, Class of 1973. Following his graduation, Charles answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Army, where he proudly served with honor and distinction.

Charles was employed at the Coatesville VA Medical Center, where he worked diligently to support veterans, embodying the spirit of service that defined his life. Prior to this role, he dedicated over fifteen years of service to the University of Pennsylvania. Throughout his career, Charles, affectionately known as "Chuck", was a hardworking and dependable professional who took great pride in his work.

A man of many talents, Chuck had an undeniable passion for cooking. He delighted in preparing Sunday dinners, hosting family barbecues, and sharing his culinary creations with those he loved. His gatherings were filled with laughter, delicious food, and cherished memories.

Charles was also an avid sports fan, particularly enjoying college football and the Philadelphia Eagles. He loved spending time at the beach, playing chess and dominoes with friends, and trying his luck with lottery tickets and scratch-offs. His favorite TV shows, "Blue Bloods," "Chicago Fire," and "Storage Wars," provided moments of entertainment and relaxation.

In addition to his culinary and sporting interests, Chuck had a lifelong love of music. As a child, he played the trumpet, and after serving in the Army, he embraced music in a new way as a DJ, bringing sound, energy, and joy to many gatherings and special occasions.

Chuck leaves behind his loving wife, Gloria F. Miles-Palmer, who shared beautiful moments with him, as well as his siblings: Charlene Palmer, Melissa Palmer, Bernadette Palmer, Bernard Terrell, and Beverly Terrell. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Matthew Palmer "Diddy", siblings, Jakina Palmer, Leonard Palmer, Eric Palmer, and Bernice Terrell.

Chuck will be deeply missed. His love, laughter, and zest for life leave a lasting impact on the lives he touched.
