Obituary

Charles Stevenson Meeks, 74, of Downingtown, PA went home to be with the Lord peacefully after a life well lived and a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family on Monday, October 14, 2024.

Charles was affectionately known as "Stevie" by his family and friends. Born in Coatesville, PA he was the eldest son of Helen Boyd Meeks and the late Dock L. Meeks, Sr.  A devoted husband, loving father to his two girls, and a protector of his mother and siblings. Stevie lead his life with a pure heart. He loved the Lord and maintained an intimate relationship with Him until his final day on earth.

He received his early education in the Coatesville Area School District and worked at Devereux Center for over 15 years. He was committed to his role as a caregiver and loved the opportunity to meet the needs of others.

In the late 1990s, Stevie relocated to Allentown, where he made meaningful changes in his life to establish a healthy lifestyle. While there, he established himself as a leader among his peers, aiding, guiding, and inspiring other men to achieve sobriety while providing opportunities for healthy lifestyle changes. He became a member of Union Baptist Church, where he sang in the men's choir and met his wife, Rosetta Turner Meeks, with whom he shared 18 years of marriage.

Stevie leaves cherished memories to his wife, Rosetta Meeks of Downingtown; children: Carolyn Meeks Henry of Nevada, Mea Meeks Parker (Marcus) of Philadelphia, Facenda Fairley of Whitehall, Kevin Vazquez of Downingtown; grandchildren: Gabriel Henry, Raziel Henry, Lila Parker, Marcus Parker, Jr, Chelsea Ott, Allen Ott, Sydney Ott; great-grandson, Mason Paula; mother, Helen Meeks of Coatesville; brother, Dock L.
