James, Jr.
January 20, 1957 – February 2, 2024
Charles T. James, Jr., "Chuck", 67, of Coatesville, PA, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 2, 2024, at his residence.
Born in West Chester, PA, he was the of the late Charles T. James, Sr. and Roceta M. Bell.
He was a graduate of Peabody High School in Pittsburgh. He also attended Wilford Academy Cosmetology School. He gained many new experiences as he traveled and relocated several times throughout his life.
Chuck was a veteran who served several years in the United States Marines and then the United States Navy. He obtained the rank of Sergeant. He worked as a Military Police and a Guard over the years while in the service.
After his military service, he pursued his interests in reading and sports, particularly baseball and basketball. Chuck even wrote two books about growing up in West Chester, showcasing his love for writing and sharing his experiences with others.
Known for his opinionated nature and comical personality, Chuck had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a clever remark or joke. He loved to talk and engage with others, and his presence would light up any room.
Chuck also enjoyed going to the church at the Salvation Army and City Gate, where he found solace and comfort in his faith.
In his spare time, Chuck loved to cook and experiment with different recipes, often referring to his meals as his homemade concoctions.
Chuck will be deeply missed by his sisters, Peggy A. Dozier of Coatesville, and Debbie Louise Bell of Pittsburgh; brothers, Ronald W. James (Celeste Reed) of Coatesville, Kevin L. James (Twanda) of Wilmington, DE, Richard N James of Coatesville; nieces who were like his sisters, Theresa M. Bell-Irons (Darrell) of Coatesville, Candace Denise Dike of Coatesville and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna L Jefferson; and brother, Frank Jerome James.
His memory will live on through his written works, his humor, and the impact he had on the lives of those around him.
Homegoing services will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA. A viewing will be held from 4:00 PM until the service time.
