IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cathy Sue
Dickens-Gray
February 17, 1985 – February 6, 2024
Cathy Sue Dickens-Gray, of Shenandoah, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Schuylkill Medical Center in Pottsville, PA. She was 38 years old.
Born in West Chester, PA, she was the daughter of Elwood Sturges and the late Wonda (Bennett) Sturges. As a little girl, she was given the Native American name "Pretty Eyes Speaking". Cathy was the beloved wife of Brian Scott Gray with whom she shared nine and a half years of marriage. She was the oldest of her siblings and was affectionately known as "Kat" by her family and friends.
Kat had a passion for arts and crafts which filled our lives with creativity and beauty. Her "fur" babies were her pride and joy, receiving endless love and care. Her heart overflowed with love for her family, cherishing every moment spent together. However, her true calling was in caring for animals, a role she embraced with unwavering dedication. Whether feeding them, cleaning cages, or simply showering them with affection, it brought great joy to her heart.
Kat had a heart of gold and wasn't afraid to be who she was. Halloween was her favorite holiday and Jack Skellington and Sally were some of her favorite characters.
She leaves precious memories to her husband, Brian Scott Gray of Shenandoah, PA; brothers, Robert Sturges of Mount Air, NC, Steven Sturges of Gap, PA; sister, Angelina Sturges (Michael Dobrzynski) of Shenandoah, PA; father, Elwood Sturges of Gap, PA; step-children; Tristen S. Gray and Hunter Gray of Framingham, MA; step-grandson, Porter Gray; grandmother, Sue Runningbear; mom-mom, Dorie Lusby; in-laws, Wonda Gray and Dallas Miller, 9 nieces and nephews whom she adored, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her mother, Kat was preceded in death by one brother, Shawn Sturges.
A viewing will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant St, Coatesville, PA.
A native american ceremonial graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM in Fairview Cemetery, 786 Oak Street, Coatesville, PA, where she will be laid to rest alongside her mother and brother.
