Carvey L. Harris, 73, of Stowe, was called home to be with the Lord on, November 12, 2012 in the West Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Rev. Georgiana C. Harris with whom he shared over 48 years of marriage.

He was born in Stem, NC, to the late Willie Joe and Catherine (Cooper) Harris. The family relocated to Pottstown when he was 6 years old.

Mr. Harris was educated in the Pottstown School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962. He was employed 28 years at Stanley G. Flagg Co. formerly of Stowe, and 15 years at Merck & Co., West Point, PA until he retired.

Mr. Harris was a member of Mount Herman Missionary Baptist Church. He was formerly a member of the Second Baptist Church of Pottstown where he served first as a Trustee and later as a Deacon. He was the former chairman of the Deacon Board of Second Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Carvey is survived by three sons, Anthony husband of Debra of Stowe, Alen husband of Tara of Birdsboro, and Steven of Stowe; one daughter, Valerie wife of Jeffery Jackson of Pottstown; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson. He is also survived by two sisters, Luevenia, wife of Harry Blakey, Brenna, wife of Charles Hicks; four brothers, his twin brother Harvey, Samuel, husband of Marietta, Willie G., husband of Patricia, and Sherman Harris. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one brother Wallace late husband of Nancy Harris.

Services will be held 11 am, Friday, November 16, at Second Baptist Church, 507 N Adams Street in Pottstown, with a viewing beginning at 9 am.

Interment with military honors will be in Limerick Memorial Gardens.
