Carrether C. "Cat" Butterfield, 78, of Coatesville, was called home to be with the Lord Monday, July 14, 2014, at St. Martha Manor in Downingtown. She was the daughter of the late Woodrow & Lucille Mack and wife of the late Lee Butterfield.

She was employed at the former Terry Elementary School in Coatesville for many years.

She was a member of Christian Faith Fellowship in Downingtown.

Carrether enjoyed sewing, knitting, singing and watching children.

She leaves four sons, Roosevelt Butterfield of Downingtown, Rev. Shannon Butterfield, Richard Butterfield and Darnell Butterfield all of Coatesville; five daughters, Barbara Butterfield, Patricia Purifoy, Leola Butterfield all of Coatesville, Mary (Ernest, Sr.) Tolbert of Newark, DE. and Lisa (Ian, Sr.) Austin of Abington; four sisters, Clara Mack, Helen Taylor and Maxine Moore all of Brooklyn , NY , Kathy Johnson of South Carolina ; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, David and Joseph Butterfield and two brothers, Franklin and Johnny Mack.

Services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Christian Faith Fellowship, 156 Wallace Avenue in Downingtown, with a viewing beginning at 9 a.m.

Interment will be held at the Rolling Green Memorial Park , West Chester .
