Obituary

On Friday, September 26, 2025, Carolyn Louise Sims, of Coatesville, PA, went home to be with the Lord, from the Twin Pines Healthcare Center in West Grove, PA.

Carolyn Louise Sims,  of Coatesville, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Twin Pines Healthcare Center in West Grove, PA. Born in Coatesville, Carolyn was the cherished daughter of the late Ashley R. Sims and Georgia Morgan Hamilton Sims.

Carolyn grew up in Coatesville and graduated from Scott Senior High School in 1961. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a Nurse Aide at the Coatesville VA. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life as she was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

Caroyln was a woman of great faith. She was a self-ordained singer and had a determined spirit of strong faith, and devotion. She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Bernardtown, and she loved to sing, especially gospel music. Caroyln would often be heard saying her favorite phrase, "Praise the Lord!"  She was also a member of the Coatesville Area Branch of the NAACP and the Elks lodge.

Carolyn's love for life was evident in her love for playing pokeno and jacks, and she reigned as the queen of hop-scotch and double dutch. Her playful spirit brought joy to her family and friends, creating cherished memories that will endure in their hearts.

Carolyn enjoyed driving to visit flea markets and thrift stores, always on the hunt for hidden treasures. She relished cooking for her loved ones, though she preferred to leave the dishwashing to others.

Carolyn is survived by her devoted son, Lemuel Sims (Gloria), eight loving grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She also leaves behind her brother, George S. Sims (Linda), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Julius Neal Sutton, son, Roderick S. Sims, and her siblings, Jack Cornelius Sims, Marian Woodlow, Mamie Foster, Ashley J. Sims "June", Austin B. Sims, Linda S. Sims, and Martha Ann Sims.

Her memory will forever remain a beacon of love and inspiration in the hearts of her family and friends.
