Carolyn Alma Mills Jones, "Cup Cake", 76, of Coatesville, PA, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester.

Born in Downingtown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward Mills and Lula Cardella Warnick. She was the wife of the late Vernon Durnell Jones.

Carolyn worked as a machine operator at Pepperidge Farm in Downingtown. She also worked at Burroughs in Downingtown and was a Kraft Bus driver.

She was a faithful member of New Life in Christ Fellowship, where she served on the usher board.

She loved traveling in motor homes, going on cruises, and riding motorcycles with her husband. She also enjoyed camping, dancing, and listening to gospel music and R&B.

Carolyn was also the number one fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. She would watch the games and still yell at the TV—even if she had already watched it live and knew the outcome. She had every jersey to prove it!

In her earlier years, she loved cooking and entertaining family and friends. If you ever left one of her gatherings hungry, it was your own fault—there was always more than enough food to go around. That love for cooking and hospitality is something she proudly passed down to her daughter, Shell.

She was kind, generous, happy, and deeply caring. Quick with a comeback and known for her top-tier sense of humor, she kept everyone laughing—even in her final days.

Most of all, she loved the Lord. She would often say, "Trust in God.. He makes the impossible possible."

Carolyn leaves cherished memories to her daughter, Marisa Rachelle “Shell” Mills of Coatesville; one grandson, Anthony James Charles “AJ” Mills of Coatesville; God daughters, Danielle Price of Wisconsin, Julie Williamson of South Carolina; sister, Jane Warnick Barton of South Carolina; Keshawn Simpson, whom she raised like a son; brother-in-law, Ronald Todd Jones and his wife Raquel; her close sister-friends, Priscilla Bryant and Patrica Campbell who affectionately gave her the name “cupcake”; her pet Yorkie, Marcus and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Durnell Jones; brothers, Charles "Andy" Mills, and Kenneth Byron Mills.

Though her brilliant light has left our sight, the warmth will continue to glow in the hearts of those who knew her.
