Brenda Denise Shelton, "Nina", 60, of Coatesville, PA 19320, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at her residence.
Born in West Chester, PA, on January 27, 1966, she was the beloved daughter of Mary Lee McClain and the late Kenneth Romeo Winters. She was the wife of Raymond Terry Shelton Sr. who affectionately called her, “Sweet Pea”.
A 1985 graduate of Henderson High School in West Chester, PA, Brenda worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse, where her expertise was IV therapy. She was an advocate for Alzheimer's and dementia patients.
Beyond her professional life, Brenda cherished her role as a devoted mother and friend. She had a knack for solving crossword puzzles and piecing together jigsaw puzzles, activities that reflected her sharp mind and patient spirit.
An avid shopper, she enjoyed finding the perfect clothes, often indulging in retail therapy. Barbecue gatherings were a favorite pastime, where she relished the joy of good food and great company. Her adventurous spirit led her to the excitement of casino visits, and she never missed an opportunity to travel, hitting the road whenever she could.
Music was a constant companion in her life, with Michael Jackson's songs holding a special place in her heart, whether she was at home or on the road.
Most of all, her love for spending time with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren, was evident in every gathering and shared moment.
Brenda will be deeply missed by her husband, Raymond Terry Shelton, Sr., children, Shemeraha McClain (Omar Washington) of Newark, DE, Dean McClain (Winnie) of Chatham, PA, Salina Jackson (Marquise Battin) of Wilmington, DE, Sierra Taylor of Coatesville, PA; mother, Mary Lee McClain; brothers, Eric McClain (Terri), Allen McClain, grandchildren: Massiah, Koreem, Gabby, Tylaijah, Sanaa, Omar, Omere, Tashaan, Garryn, Tristan, Rahsaan, Roslyn, Ronin; great grandchildren, Luna and Koda; sister-in-law, Hilda McClain; close friends, Yvonne Rustin, aunt, Janice McKee, Elva Butler and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Keith McClain; sister-in-law, Tracy McClain, and grandmother, O Dessie McKee.
Her compassionate touch and dedication to both her family and her patients will be deeply missed by all who were in her care.
Homegoing Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Second Baptist Church, 132 S Willow Street, Kennett Square, PA. The viewing will be held from 8:00 - 9:45 AM.

Interment will be held in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square, PA.
