Bonnie Mae Dalton, 72, of Coatesville passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 in Richmond, Virginia. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Beatrice and Emmett Harris, Sr. Bonnie was the wife of the late Ralph E. Dalton with whom she shared 48 years.
Bonnie was educated in Coatesville Area public schools. She attended the Historical James Adams School and was a 1966 graduate of S. Horace Scott Senior High School. She retired from Southeastern Veterans Hospital and the Coatesville VA Hospital after many years.
Bonnie was a member of the DIVAs social group in Coatesville. Over many years, she served at various events held at the R.L. Davis Fellowship Hall at Hutchinson UAME Church. Most of all, Bonnie was a helper in the community. She was humorous and had an infectious personality. She attended Christian Faith Fellowship in Downingtown for several years where she served on the usher board.
In addition to her husband Ralph, Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela L. Dalton.
She leaves her daughter, Tanya Allen (Altez) of South Chesterfield, Virginia; 6 grandchildren: Altez Allen, Jr., Tereke Allen, Tiera Dalton, Nishera Dalton, Anferee Reason, and Nyliah Dalton; 2 great grandchildren: Brielle Dalton and Altez Allen, III.
Bonnie also leaves Russell Richmond and Jah'mir Pennington, whom she raised; two brothers, Emmett Harris, Jr., Raymond Harris; two sisters, Brenda Runner and Patricia Teel (Frank); one aunt, Margaret Grove and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
Services will be Saturday at 5 p.m. November 2, 2019 at Hutchinson Memorial UAME Church, 825 Chestnut Street, Coatesville, PA with a viewing beginning at 3 p.m.
Interment will be held privately. The family requests no flowers, donations can be made to charity in Bonnie's honor. Condolences from organizations can be emailed or faxed to the funeral home by Thursday 9 p.m.
