Obituary

Blanch Elaine Gardner, 59, of Coatesville, PA gained her butterfly wings peacefully in her home on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the loving daughter of Blanche Etta Griffy Gardner Rodriquez and Clarence Gardner, Sr. who both gained their wings, and the stepdaughter of Samuel Rodriguez who also gained his wings.

She was the companion of George Jones, with whom she shared over 30 years together. She was known as Elaine by her family and friends.

She received her education from the West Chester public school system. Elaine worked as a nurse's aide for many years.  She enjoyed shopping and loved to take care of plants and flowers. She also enjoyed listening to songs song by Shirley Caesar and R Kelly.

Elaine leaves precious memories to her fiancé, George Jones of Coatesville, PA; son, Byron L. Gardner, Sr. (Emily) of Royersford, PA; two granddaughters, Nylah Gardner of Philadelphia, PA, Brooklyn Gardner of Royersford, PA; grandson, Byron L. Gardner, Jr. of Royersford, PA; one sister, Lillian Welch of Coatesville, PA; three brothers, Clarence Gardner, Jr. of Gap, PA, Kevin Gardner and Charles Gardner (Vicki) both of Lancaster, PA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She also leaves her loving nieces, Tammy Gardner-Myers (Bashanti) of Atglen, PA; LaVette Gardner-Wright and Shontae Hamilton both of Coatesville, PA; nephews, Leon Gardner (Kissme) of Philadelphia and Teshon Hamilton (Allison) of West Chester; 2 great nieces, Lillian Bell and LaToya St. John both of Downingtown, PA; 2 great nephews, Dejon Gardner of Coatesville, PA and Demond Gardner (Blen) of Levittown, PA; her best friend/sister/niece Angela Gardner (Marqui) of Downingtown, PA and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends whom she truly loved and cared about.

In addition to her parents, Blanch gained her butterfly wings along with her sisters, Deborah "Debbie" Gardner, Lavern Gardner-Hamilton, and Carla Gardener-Brown. They all join in heaven together again to form butterflies and stars in the sky.
