Obituary

Beverly Ann Blake, 83, of Coatesville, PA, departed this life on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the Sanatoga Center in Pottstown, PA.

She was born in Coatesville, PA, the daughter of the late Hannah (Matson) and William Lewis. She was a proud graduate of Coatesville School District. She worked at the Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center for 30 years before retiring. She then went on to work at Rainbow Elementary School in Coatesville.

A long-time member of Second Baptist Worship Center in Coatesville, she served graciously on the Usher Board for many years and dedicated much of her life to serving others.

Beverly was a woman of strength, grace, and love. Her heart was big enough for all her loved ones and she will forever be remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to her family. She was a mother and mentor to many, and her legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was known for her joyful spirit and her love of music, especially the sounds of Motown, and her passion for dancing, often shared with her companion, the late Harry A. Sellers, Jr. She enjoyed long rides through the countryside, always in search of new adventures. She loved family gatherings and barbeques and could always be found in the kitchen whipping up something.

Beverly also had a special love for hats and was often seen wearing her stylish collection that added a touch of elegance to her everyday style. She could be sassy when she needed to be. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the countless ways she made sure that everyone around her was cared for. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish, her son George Blake Jr, her granddaughter, Asia Tribble of Philadelphia, PA, grandson Cameris Williams, her nieces, Kimberly Miller of Willow Grove, PA, Taylor Wimbly, nephew Alex Wimby of Stone Mountain, GA, and two great-grandsons, Amari and Amir Tribble. Beverly was blessed to have bonus children, Deborah Sellers (Wiley), Harry A. Sellers III, Barry Sellers, and Tony Sellers, and a host of nieces, and nephews who affectionally called her Auntie Bev. She also leaves behind; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Holden of Coatesville, PA, and Cynthia Wimbly of Stone Mountain, GA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Marion, and Sarah, a brother, Lafayette Wimbly, her companion, Harry A. Seller, Jr., and her bonus son, Robert Jerry Sellers, Sr.
