Obituary

Betty Lou Harris was born on February 15th, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Iceylina (Harris) Sutton and Robert Gordon.

She was a graduate of S. Horace Scott Senior High School, class of 1965. Having a desire to care for others, Betty was employed at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Coatesville for more than 35 years. During that time, she was honored with numerous service awards and certifications.

Betty was a devoted member of the Greater Deliverance Church for 36 years, where she served as the nurse to Apostle Bobby G. Duncan. In her leisure time, she enjoyed shopping, singing, and most of all spending time with loved ones.

On Monday, August 15th, 2022, at Brandywine Hall Center in West Chester, Pennsylvania, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, transitioned from this earthly life into eternal life. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Christa Harris; two brothers, Gary and Charles Sutton; two sisters, Gertrude R. Roane and Mamie A. Thomas.

She leaves cherished memories with her son, George Harris (Mia Grove); grandchildren, Gamond Harris, and Alondra Canton; great granddaughters, Aerie Harris-Madonna, and Armani Harris; special friend, James Myers; former daughter-in-law, Marsha Canton, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
