Bernice Herrera, 91 of West Chester, died March 15, 2012 at the Pembrook Rehabilitation Center in West Chester.

She was born in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late William and Rebecca Luff Johnson. Bernice was one of nine siblings who have predeceased her, Maxine, Pauline, Harold, Lawrence, Mildred, Mary, Paul and Dorothy. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Amaro Herrera.

Over the years, Bernice had been employed at the Chester County Hospital and Paoli Memorial Hospital.

She attended Rice's Temple Church in West Chester.  She was a licensed beautician who enjoyed listening to music, playing board games, cooking and shopping.

She is survived by one granddaughter, Nikkia A. Gravely of Downingtown.

Bernice was a kind person who was humble, witty and had great wisdom. She will be sadly missed.

Interment will be held privately.
