Sgt. Benjamin Franklin Boyer, Sr., affectionately known as "Frank" was born on September 7, 1938, in Pomeroy, PA to the late James H. Boyer and Bertha Wilson Boyer-Clark and Stepfather Edward Clark. He entered into rest on June 28, 2024, at the Paoli Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was 85 years old.
He was the husband of Evonne Anderson Boyer. He attended Pleasantville Schools and the Coatesville area School District. As a young man he resided in Yonkers, New York, where he worked for the Carpet Shop Factory. Ben later joined the United States Marines, serving his country for twelve years from 1957 until 1969 serving at Paris Island and Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and Quantico, Virginia.
Ben met and married Mary Mae Cheeks Boyer. From that union, he had a daughter Stephanie, and raised, a stepson Jefferey. The family lived in West Chester, PA, and later moved to Coatesville, PA. Ben later met and married his current wife of 33 years, Evonne Anderson Boyer. From that union, his son Benjamin Anderson was born. He also raised and was a father to three additional children.
Ben was employed by many bus companies. While in New York he drove for the Trailways Bus Company Line and other Charter buses. While living in Coatesville, he drove for Reeder's Bus Company and drove other bus lines from West Chester to Coatesville.
His hobbies included watching Westerns and listening to Country music.
Ben was of the Jehovah's Witness faith and was a faithful worshipper. Ben was a kind, loving and caring person; always wanting to help others.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; one son, Jefferey; three sisters, Elsie, Fern Vera, and Pauline; three brothers, James, Thomas, and Donald.
In addition to his Wife Evonne, he leaves to mourn 3 sons, Michael, Donny, and Benjamin Anderson, of Coatesville, PA; 2 daughters, Stephanie Boyer of Delaware; and Dawn Anderson of Coatesville; Four sisters, Ethel Scott, and Bertha Parker, Alice Boyer all of Coatesville, PA, and Catherine Jones (Husband James) of Pleasantville, New Jersey; one brother, Edward Clark of Coatesville, PA; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends.
