Barbara Elizabeth Jones Martin, daughter of the late Matthew Douglas Jones (Islam) and Gladys Louise Barnes Jones (Islam), was born September 11, 1938 in Coatesville, PA.  She passed away at age 81 on Sunday, September 29, 2019.

She attended James Adams Elementary School and graduated from Scott High School of Coatesville.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Joseph Charles Martin with whom she shared 30 years of marriage. Their union blessed them with six children, Kenneth Martin (m) Laverne Turner, Sharon Martin (m) Martin A. Buggs (deceased), Joseph Martin, Danny Martin, Rodney Martin, and Jeffrey Martin (m) Tekeesha Lovelace.

While raising her family she worked at Lasko, West Chester, PA; Downingtown Inn, Downingtown, PA; and Bus Driver for Great Valley School District, Great Valley, PA.  She was Islamic by faith and was recognized as Barbara Islam in that faith.

Barbara was a family woman who loved and enjoyed spending time with family. Her grands were her world and anytime they were in her presence they brightened her day. Barbara was a happy person who always kept a smile on her face and was known for her kind, gentle nature. She enjoyed and loved music, dancing, reading, eating and more than anything, enjoyed having family around her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Charles Martin, her parents, Gladys Louise and Matthew D. Jones (Islam), granddaughter, Charniece Martin, her Aunt, Dorothy Simmons and cousin, Christine Richardson, Uncle Joshua Jones, and Martin A. Buggs, Sr., son-in-law.

She is survived by and leaves to cherish her life as well as mourn her loss, 6 children, 25 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, sibling, Geraldine Thompson Webb, brother-in-law Carl Webb; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

An Islamic viewing will be held 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA.  An Islamic burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Coatesville.
