Obituary

Anthony Scott Morris, 69 of Allentown, Pennsylvania transitioned peacefully in his home on January 23, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife and niece who loved him.

Born July 16, 1954, he was the son of Patricia and Herbert Morris in Easton Pennsylvania. Anthony lived a vibrant life and had a host of close friends from all over.  His zest for learning and higher education is what pushed him back to college in his later years finally earning his degree and being inducted into the High Honors Society.  This is the legacy that he so proudly wanted to lead and leave behind for all of those he loved, especially his grandchildren.

In his earlier college years, he pledged Gamma Phi Omega where he held a lifelong comradery with his fraternity brothers. These friendships were held near and dear to his heart. He had a host of hobbies like golfing, playing tennis with his daughter Kimberly, painting, cooking and always looking sharp! Anthony was always known for being a well-dressed, fashionable man with the charm to follow. Of all of those things, what he most enjoyed doing was spending time with his grandchildren. He was affectionately known to them as "Granddad". To call him a proud grandfather is an understatement. His love for them was unconditional. Each of them have a special nickname given to them by Grandad that they will forever be called by. If you were given a nickname, he considered you a favorite.

He will be sorely missed by his devoted wife Cheryl (MiMi) of 22 years and his children.

He leaves behind his wife Cheryl Scretchin of Allentown, PA; son, Anthony Vaughn Morris of Allentown, PA; daughters, Kimberly Inez Morris of Philadelphia, PA, Whitney N. Morris of Phoenixville, PA, LaKeya N. Scretchin of Allentown, PA, and Simone Yvette Nelson of Riverview, FL; grandchildren, Kennedy, Cassidy, Sophia, Kingston, Chelsea, Christian, Kiara, Zayd, Kali, Chloe and Swae; siblings, Sheree Morris, Michael Morris, Gary and Nicole Morris, Michele C. Jetter (predeceased). He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, 3 great-great nephews, and cousins.

He was known lovingly as Tony by his friends but Scottie and Beady B to his family. His hazel eyes and loud voice will be missed but his laugh, his love and his light will continue to live on in our hearts.
