Ann Carolyn Pittman, 83, of Coatesville, PA, passed away suddenly at her residence on June 25, 2025.
Born in Robeson County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Mitchell Floyd, Sr. and Virginia Pittman Floyd. She was the wife of the late Clifford N. Pittman, Sr., with whom she shared 51 years of marriage.
Carolyn was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed vegetable gardening, taking care of flowers, going fishing, and watching game shows. She also enjoyed cooking Southern dishes. Her meals were a favorite at the annual family pig roast in Hayti. In her early days, she loved to dance, especially at cabarets. Most of all, she loved the Lord.
Carolyn was intelligent, independent, and assertive. She kept up with current events and was a great conversationalist. She loved her family and was very supportive and non-judgmental.
Carolyn will be deeply missed by her loving children, Carol Diane Jones of Coatesville, PA, Sandra Pittman Green (John) of Dillon, SC, Cherry Ella Pittman of Coatesville, PA, Clifford Nathaniel Pittman, Jr. (Nyla) of Harrisburg, PA, and Beverly Denise Middleton (Grant) of Coatesville, PA; two grandchildren whom she helped raise, Steven Pittman (Jen) and Syretta Pittman; sisters, Joyce Cribb, and Doris McLaughlin (Kenneth) both of Lake View, SC; God daughter, Carla James; sister in law, Sarah Rogers of Trenton, NJ and Sharon Floyd; long-time friend, Mary Jane Toney;17 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; 8 great-great granchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Mitchell Floyd Jr., Melvin Floyd; grandchildren, Ryan Jones and Carnell Pittman and a son-in-law, William Jones; great-granddaughters, Zhana Pittman and Zdora Pittman; great-grandson, Amir J. Gay; brothers-in-law Elonzell Cribb, David Pittman, Thomas Smutherman and Ralph Rogers; sister-in-laws, Sharon Floyd, Willina Green, Rose Smutherman, Joceil Smutherman, Emma Pittman; and best friend, Beverly James.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at New Hope Glad Tidings Church of God, 80 Foundry Street, Coatesville PA. A viewing will be held from 10 AM until 10:45 AM.
The burial will be held in New Evergreen Cemetery, Coatesville, PA.

Flower arrangements may be delivered to the church on the morning of the service. The flower theme colors are purple and lavender.
