IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice Marie
Carter Terry
September 23, 1931 – January 11, 2025
BORN: SEPTEMBER 23, 1931 – SUMMONED: JANUARY 11, 2025
January 11, 2025, while convalescing at home after a second stroke, little did we know that day, God had summoned her home. While she was peacefully sleeping all warm and cozy in her bed, God took our mother by the hand and led her to a beautiful mansion that he had prepared. God released our mother from all her sorrow and her pain, while surrounded by her family and her faithful best friend. But, if we knew that she was leaving, we would have prayed, "GOD, PLEASE LET HER STAY!"
We know that God was smiling down on her because through her pain she never ever lost her faith. We thank God for the strength that he gave her each day because she did all she could do to be strong, even though she may have felt her strength slipping away.
On Saturday morning, our mother put her hand INTO THE HANDS OF THE GREAT I AM. The Scripture says, "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine." Isaiah 43:1
Alice Carter Terry was the GREATEST MOTHER IN THE WORLD, and we lost our favorite girl. God, we know that you gave us many years to see her beautiful face, and we thank you because there is nobody else that can ever take her place.
Alice Carter Terry was the only parent that we ever really knew, God, we know that this is no surprise to you "SO, LORD, WE THANK YOU FOR THE NINETY-THREE YEARS AND ALL OF THE BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES."
Mom, please know, that all the good things that you accomplished in this life did not go unnoticed by your children or by Jesus Christ. Now that you know the truth, please enjoy your mansion in the sky. We wish that we all could have been there, when God said, "WELL DONE MY CHILD!" The following are the children of Alice M. Carter Terry: Brenda Smith-Treadwell, George Carter Jr. (predeceased) Daryl Carter, Larry Carter, Cheryl Carter, Dana Carter, and Roderick Carter.
Alice Carter Terry was employed with the following organizations over the many years: Homemakers, Home Health Care, McDonald's, and the YMCA. In addition to providing care for the elderly and children, she also worked as a volunteer at the Coatesville Soup Kitchen, at the Hutchinson Memorial Church. Alice assisted her sister-in-law, Linda A. Jackson Wilson (predeceased), with serving meals to the homeless and to those individual(s) in need.
Our mother was the oldest child of Margaret Rodel Bennett (predeceased), who married Claras R. Wilson (predeceased). Our mother was raised by her mother Margaret and her stepfather in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania. The following are her siblings: Clyde Wilson, Constance Dixon, Rosalie Hardmon, Sondra Richardson, Jimmy Wilson (predeceased), Sharon Wilson (predeceased), John Wilson, Phyllis Ragsdale, and Patricia Ford.
We give special thanks to our mother's special friend, Ms. Shirley Harris Brown. Thank you for sending so many bouquets of flowers to our mother, over the years, and we thank you for the many phone calls just to let our mother know that you cared.
Family and friends may share condolences at the guestbook link on this memorial page, where all are welcome to say their farewells.
