Ada C. McCrumn Gaither, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away, May 10, 2021. She was 77 years old. Ada C. Cornish was born to Mildred V. (Corporal) Cornish and James O' Brien Cornish on June 16, 1943, in Coatesville, PA. She was the wife of Curtis F. Gaither with whom she shared 15 years of marriage. She was educated in the Coatesville Area School District. She attended the Historic James Adams School from kindergarten through 8th grade, attended Gordon Elementary from 9th -10th grade and graduated from S. Horace Scott Senior High in 1961. "GO RED RAIDERS" (School Alma Mater: Chief Red Raiders). After graduating from high school, Ada worked as a keypunch operator at T.V. Guide in Radnor, PA. She later became employed as a manager and clerk at the Chester County Housing Authority. She then went on to work for the Department of Public Assistance, until she retired. She is survived by her husband, Curtis F. Gaither of Downingtown, Pennsylvania; five children: daughter, Theresa B. McCrumn, son, James O' Brien McCrumn of Tampa, Florida, son, William H. McCrumn of Miraloma, California, daughter, Mildred V. McCrumn Riley of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, daughter, Ashlea M. Martin of Coatesville, Pennsylvania; three siblings: sister, Barbara Ward; brothers, James Cornish, and Kashman Harris; nine grandchildren: Candace McCrumn, Tina McCrumn, Alexis McCrumn, Brooklyn McCrumn, Jay Riley Jr., Milaya Riley, Shyann Martin, Ariyanna Brown and Kwame Brown; one great-granddaughter: Avianna Welch; extended sons: Jay Riley Sr., George Brandow and Andrew Herbert; former spouse, Robert H. McCrumn, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert H. McCrumn Jr., and brother, Ralph W. Cornish. Ada will be deeply missed. Though she is gone she will not be forgotten. We will cherish her memory in our hearts. Services will be held privately.
