Stanley Allen Cropper, Sr., "Stan The Man", 79 of Downingtown, PA, formerly of Devon, PA, passed away, Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the Paoli Hospital in Paoli, PA.
Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was the son of the late William Theodore Cropper, Sr. and Susie Marie (Bolden) Cropper. He was the father of Stanley A. Cropper, Jr., of Coatesville, PA, and William "Bill" A. Cropper and his wife Sherri of Fredericksburg, VA.
Stanley served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1965.
He is remembered by his family as being a laid back, quiet and polite person who loved his family. He enjoyed playing a good game of pool at the VFW in Caln, and watching baseball and the Philadelphia Eagles. Stanley also loved listening to jazz music and played the saxophone with several different bands.
In addition to his sons, he is survived by his sister, Angeline J. (Cropper) Turner of Devon, PA, wife of the late Thomas S. Turner, Sr; companion of 27 years, Estella Pimentel of Downingtown, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Theodore Cropper, Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held in memory of Stanley on Sunday, August 18th, 2019 at 4:00 PM at Power In The Cross Church, located at 506 Haws Ave, (Grace Lutheran Church Sanctuary) Norristown, PA 19401. Interment with Military Honors will be held at 1 PM Monday, August 19, 2019 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA, 18940
