Ronald Harvey, Jr. Obituary

Ron was born November 22, 1959 the son of Ronald F. Harvey Sr. and Hattie Mae Harvey who proceeded him in death. He attended the Philadelphia Public School System and graduated in 1977. Ron became a professional Barber and owned several shops which all were known as, “Ron’s Place.” The Barber Shops were filled with lively conversation and debates. Ron often ended the conversations by saying, “You can cancel Christmas!” He was currently employed by Wire and Cable, Incorporated in Coatesville, PA.

Ron loved his family. He was especially proud that he personally made sure his brothers and sisters knew each other; and he either called or stopped by often to stay in touch. Ron was loyal to his friends and returned frequently to South Philly to spend time with the brothers he called “the gang”. They are his family too. He was well known and many of you have traveled from Coatesville and other areas because of your love for Ron. He was strong-willed and stood his ground for those things he believed. During his conversations, Ron listened and at the end he either agreed with you or repeated EXACTLY what he told you the first time as if you never said a word!

Ron was athletic and enjoyed sports especially boxing.  He was proud of the fact that in 1980 he was on the Camp Hill Boxing Team and did not, “lose one fight.” To this day he would let you know he could still, “hold his hands!” Ron said, “I was sharp in the ring like I am in the Barber Shop”. Remember he told us and showed us he was a, "Master Barber”. Even when it came to cutting his grass Ron was very particular and had his own way of making sure the grass was cut perfectly.

Ron met Grace 25 years ago. Although they had different personalities, they knew they were meant for each other. Like any other relationship they faced ups and downs but through it all they made it.

Ron had a flair for fashion. EVERYTHING had to be just right; his shades, his hats, his shoes; and he wore it all well from the dress down to the dress up. Ron made sure there were pictures taken to capture the moment.

Ron departed this life with many broken hearts left behind.
