Richard Thomas Adair, Sr., 72, of Coatesville, PA passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at his residence.
Born in Harrisburg, PA he was the son of the late Chester and Gwendolyn Adair. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Rich” by family and friends.
He served in the United States Air Force until he was honorably discharged in 1967.
Richard worked as a Diesel Mechanic at Lukens Steel Company from 1968 – 1992.
He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. He was previously a Dallas Cowboys fan until Tom Landry was fired.
Richard enjoyed volunteering at the VA Hospital. He enjoyed hanging out at the Midway which he called his office.
Richard leaves cherished memory to his wife Letitia Adair of Harrisburg; sons: Ervin Bryant of Coatesville, PA, Richard Adair, Jr. of Harrisburg, PA, and Terrell Bryant of Coatesville, PA; daughter, Amelia Adair of Richmond, VA; sisters, Lynndell Clifton and Cheryl Wilkins, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Interment with full military honors will be held at 2 PM, Monday, December 31, 2018 in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
The family request donations be made to the funeral home to cover funeral costs.
