Martin H. Trowery

Martin H. Trowery, 78, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at home.

Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late John Wells Trowery, Sr. and Goldie Louise (Mullen) Trowery Alston. Martin was the husband of Bette (Dixon) Trowery with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

A US Army veteran, he served until he was honorably discharged.

He is survived by his his wife Bette Trowery of Philadelphia, PA;daughters: Jacquita Marquis-Flake (Elbert), Martina Inez Marquis both of Philadelphia, PA, Cynthia Jones (Rodrique) of Coatesville, PA, Rachel Mitchell of Pittsburgh, PA, Niya Trowery of Fort Myers, FL, Elisha Smith of Moreno Valley, CA; son Quinton Dothard of Atlanta, GA; brothers: John Trowery, Fred Trowery (Adrienne), Joseph Trowery (Gwen) all of Pittsburgh, Cleo Alston (Doris) of Downingtown, Richard Trowery (Paulette) of Philadelphia, PA; sister, Elizabeth Trowery Lebron (Feliciano) of Pittsburgh and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by daughters, Anita Lorraine Trowery-Dias and Sherry Harrell; grandson, Anthony Trowery-Dias; stepfather, Joseph Alston; sisters: Mary Roggerson, Alice Legree Ingram, Sylvia Stuart, Arlene Alston, Josephine Alston, Goldie Tyler; brothers: Herbert Trowery, Thomas Trowery, Gibson Trowery, Jerry Alston and William Trowery.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 819 Coates Street, Coatesville. A viewing will be held from 9 AM until time of services.

Interment will be held privately.

Flowers can be sent to the church of the day of the service. Condolence messages for the family can be shared on the guest book.
