OBITUARY
Laray Allynn Turner Ming, affectionately known as "Coogie" by friends and family, was welcomed into heaven on Friday, February 2, 2018.
Born in Coatesville, PA and was raised in the Garrett Hill area of Rosemont, PA. She attended Radnor Township School District schools, graduating as part of the class of 1970.
As an adult, Laray lived and worked in parts of Rosemont, Ardmore, and Philadelphia. She later moved to Coatesville, where she worked for the Coatesville School District for many years.
Most recently, she worked at Child and Career Development Center of Coatesville as an instructional assistant, where she touched the hearts of many teachers, staff, and students.
Laray was blessed with many family and friends throughout her life, spending as much time with them as possible. She generously opened her heart and home to nearly anyone who asked, often caring for nieces, nephews, cousins, and other children in her neighborhood.
She was preceded into heaven by her parents Ashley Durnell Gill and Leroy A. Turner, Sr., and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She leaves behind one brother, Leroy A. Turner, Jr. (Carol) of Rosemont, PA, a nephew, Mathew Turner (Macy Wendler) and their son Kingsley, and two nieces Casey and Lauren Turner. She also leaves behind her long time companion Lee Boyer Sr. In addition she leaves three aunts, Doris Ann Brown, Constance Jackson, Hilda Wright and many loving friends and family, too abundant to list here.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 819 Coates Street, Coatesville PA 19320. A viewing will begin at 9:00 AM until the service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children’s Fund of Chester County, which provides scholarships to deserving students in CCIU programs.
