Joyce Yvonne Roberts

Joyce Yvonne Roberts was born in Coatesville, PA, on July 5, 1943, to the late Vera Roberts and Albert Pendleton.  She passed away on November 6, 2019, in Atlantic City, NJ, at the Atlantic City Regional Medical Center.

As a young girl, Joyce was educated in the Coatesville Area School District, and graduated from the S. Horace Scott Senior High School.

Joyce was a seamstress for over 25 years in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.  She loved to read novels, listen to music, and spend time with her family.  When she lived in Reading, PA, she attended City Lights Ministry Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children; Yvonne Roberts-McClain and Andre Valdez Cockren, and one grandson; Valdez Cockren.

Joyce leaves fond memories to her surviving children: Buster Brown Cockren of Atlantic City, NJ, Sherry Leontina Yost of Birdsboro, PA, Maurice Leroy Cockren of Lancaster, PA, one sister; Shirley Young of Berwyn, PA (whom was married to the late Samuel L. Young), and one brother; Harrison Kennedy of Baltimore, MD; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.  Joyce also had a very special caregiver, Stephanie Ragsdale.

A Memorial Service in her name will be held 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at the Episcopal Church of the Trinity, 323 Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, PA 19320.  A visitation with the family will begin at 10:30 AM.  The Memorial Service is being done by the family.  There will not be a viewing.
